How to set up your admin passcode and recovery code
QRdy lets you set an admin passcode to protect sensitive settings. Alongside it, a recovery code gives you a way back in if you ever forget the passcode.
Both live in the Settings section of your dashboard.
Admin passcode
What the admin passcode protects
The admin passcode adds a layer of protection to sensitive settings within your QRdy account. When it is set, accessing certain areas of Settings requires entering the passcode first.
This is useful if multiple staff members have access to the dashboard. Day-to-day job management and stage updates do not require the passcode. It is for settings changes that you want to restrict to account owners or managers.
To set it up, go to Settings and find the security section. You choose the passcode there. Pick something you will remember but that is not obvious to anyone who might access your device.
Recovery code
Why the recovery code matters
When you set your admin passcode, QRdy generates a recovery code. This is a one-time code that lets you regain access to protected settings if you forget your passcode.
Store it somewhere safe the moment you receive it. Good options: a password manager, a note in a secure folder, or a printed copy kept somewhere only you can access. Do not store it only in your browser or on a shared device.
If you forget the passcode and do not have the recovery code, regaining access to protected settings becomes significantly harder. Treating the recovery code as important from the start avoids that situation entirely.
Common questions
Passcode and recovery questions
Where do I set up my admin passcode?
Go to Settings in your QRdy dashboard. The admin passcode option is in the security section of Settings. You can set it the first time there and update it from the same place later.
What happens if I forget my admin passcode?
This is exactly what the recovery code is for. Store it somewhere safe when you first set up your passcode. If you forget the passcode, the recovery code is how you regain access to protected settings.
Where should I store my recovery code?
Somewhere you will reliably be able to find it if you need it. A password manager, a printed note in a secure location, or a private document you control. Do not store it only in your browser or on a device you might lose access to.
