How customer check-in works with QRdy

When a customer scans your QR code, they go through a short check-in form. It takes about twenty seconds. At the end they have a live status page showing their job, and you have a job card in your dashboard.

Here is exactly what happens on both sides.

What the customer does

    Scan the QR code at your counter

    The customer uses their phone camera. No app needed. A link appears on screen and they tap it.

    Enter name or reference number

    The check-in form asks for a name or order reference. This is how their job card is identified in your dashboard.

    Choose notification preferences

    Customers can opt in to browser push, and depending on your plan, WhatsApp or email. All options are optional. Skipping them does not affect the status page.

    Status page opens immediately

    Their personal live page loads in their browser showing their name, current stage, and the stages ahead. It updates in real time as your team taps through each stage.

Business side

What you see in real time

The moment a customer submits the check-in form, a new job card appears in your Dashboard tab. It shows their name or reference number and the first stage of your workflow.

You do not need to do anything to create the job. It appears automatically from their scan. From that point, your only task is tapping to move the job forward as work progresses.

If multiple customers scan at once, each one creates a separate job card. They are all visible in the dashboard simultaneously, each with their own customer name and current stage.

Common questions

Check-in questions

Are notifications required during check-in?

No. Notifications are entirely optional. Customers can complete check-in and get their live status page without choosing any notification method. The status page works regardless of whether they opt in to anything.

Which notifications can customers choose?

Browser push notifications are available on all plans at no charge to the customer. WhatsApp and email notifications may be available depending on the business plan. Customers only see the options the business has enabled.

How quickly does a job appear in the dashboard after a customer checks in?

Immediately. As soon as a customer submits the check-in form, a job card appears in your dashboard in real time. You do not need to refresh the page.

Can a customer check in without scanning, if they cannot scan the code?

Yes. QRdy provides a fallback code alongside every QR code. Customers who cannot scan can type this short code into any browser to reach the same check-in page. You can also share the direct link with them if needed.
